Hi everyone, March has been a quiet month, there has been no socials in the area, but we are busy learning as many dances as possible for the Homebush Ball, such as Intermediate Dances - Break on Me, Obsessed, Hold Me Now, A Woman Loves, Easy Intermediate Dances - Out of Reach, Forget all your Yesterdays, Hello Summer, Beginner dances - Sunshine Waltz, Try Everything Easy, Yes Sir Tha'ts My Baby.
You are all working so hard to learn the dances and it's good to see so many that have only been dancing a few years tackling the harder dances. All I can say is persistence, you get there after a few lessons.
A big thanks to Janet Connolly and Kathy Pryor for taking my Monday night class, as I was in Merimbula from the 9th-13th March, Kathy had been to Norfolk Island with Vivien for a week and went to a linedance workshop with Kate Simpkin, learnt a few dances and taught the class Yes Sir That's My Baby sung by Ricky Nelson which is a fun beginner dance.
A big thanks to Jenny Landsberry for taking my Sunday class whilst I was away, Jenny taught Obsessed and Wanna Be Me Too. These dances have been received well by all the dancers. I am very lucky to have such wonderful friends that are willing to take on the classes when I have some time with my husband Rob.
Unfortunately the Jervis Bay cruise for the 18th March has been cancelled again, this time due to bad weather, heavy seas and windy conditions. I'm sure everyone that were going are pleased with the decision. I will schedule the cruise for May, when I work out a date.
The April Fund Raising social is coming around fast, I hope you can all make it, we are raising money for Greenacres Disability Services. The social is request only, so start picking your favourite dances out, so we can all have fun. I will do a list of dances that have been done recently and in the past just incase you have forgotten the names.
Sad news to hear that Jan Wylie has passed away due to cancer, she has choreographed lots of fun dances and was well known all over Australia. She will be sadly missed by many.
